The Data Service is currently investigating the issue providers are facing with 99 status report’ failures.

In another Data Service cock up, colleges are reporting futher issues uploading data via the Online Data Collections (OLDC) system .

The Data Service is currently investigating the issue providers are facing with 99 status report’ failures. Currently 99 status reports are being produced each time the file submitted by a provider has a failure / retry and there is no message in the report to state what the issue with the file is e.g.:ILR-A-10000115-1112-0094-01.XML_99.STATUS.

A temporary “fix” has been be deployed that will alert colleges there there is “a” known issue (ahem..) and that they are invesigating.

In order to fully resolve this issue the Data Service would like to monitor the situation and ask providers to log any 99 status report errors with the Service Desk on 0870 2670001 or email: servicedesk@thedataservice.org.uk

Check LARA for updates and automatically download

larAuto was created to allow the latest LARA mdb to be downloaded on a daily basis.

LARA is normally updated online around 19:50 so I suggest you schedule larAuto to run after that.

larAuto will download the latest zip -> extract and compact the database (no more 700mb+ files)

Idealy run from the same location you want your file downloaded to.

Usage:

laraAuto destination dateOffset

eg.

To check for new download added today:

larAuto K:\lara_latest\lara.mdb 0

To Check for download added yesterday:

larAuto K:\lara_latest\lara.mdb -1

Works really well as a scheduled task, though if access is not installed on the machine you run larAuto on it won’t compact the DB (700mb – > 160mb)

Download

LarAuto 301.16 kB
Downloaded 49 times

Changelog:

Added:
Setup gui on first load (reopen using larauto -setup)
- Manual Proxy setup and check (leave blank for auto)
- Generate shortcut
larAuto now pulls search criteria from FEBoard which means updates to core files won’t be required when the data service update thier website.

Prep work and framework completed for PUSH download capability.
This will allow larAuto to recieve notifications when a new lara is available and auto download.
Need to check some info with the data service before enabling though.
